I quattro elementi

A few questions for Lorenzo Guzzini

Let’s start from the roots, how does your story begin?
I started painting as a young boy, and then I began studying architecture at university.
After several years of experience in model making, I shifted my interest towards a broader artistic field, creating installations and sculptures that are about space, human interaction, and interaction with nature.

Who are the people who have inspired you the most artistically and professionally?

Almost all the people who are significant in my life constantly and unconsciously influence my path. I don’t believe so much in inspiration but I do believe in passion, hard work, and study, in observation and curiosity that allow each of us to interpret the world in a completely personal way.

How does nature inspire your projects and lifestyle?
I believe it all starts there. The theme of my art is the rediscovery of nature, first and foremost within ourselves. We are the mirror of Nature. We are Nature.

If your project were music, what track would it be?

‘Psycho Killer’ by Talking Heads.

What is your definition of art?

The expression of the most attentive gaze towards what surrounds us.

Which artwork/design object would you place at the center of an exhibition?

The most beautiful object in the world? Michelangelo’s Pietà Rondanini.

Five words for you closely related to the concept of earth (soil).

Life, reality, scent, depth, fire.
