Alpina

designed by Michele De Lucchi e rand crafted by Riva 1920

for Orticolario 2024

[Concept]

The Alpina stackable bench, born from the creative genius of Michele De Lucchi and masterfully crafted by Riva 1920 for Orticolario 2024, is an invitation to pause and contemplate the surrounding nature and its constant transformation.

Inspired by the timeless objects of alpine culture, this bench is created from the assembly of a rectangular top and four angled legs, made from fine natural and aromatic cedar wood.

The choice of untreated wood, assembled without glue or clamps, is a statement of respect for the environment and expresses a deep connection with the natural world, further integrating the seating into its context.

By stacking multiple benches, a stable bookshelf can be created thanks to the grooves carved into the top, transforming the object into a multifunctional element that invites creativity and dynamic use of space.
