[An exercise in imagination on phytodepuration]
Silence.
A defaced, disrupted, wounded land. Some speak of a harmful, toxic human passage.
They recall the fumes, the smells, the noises of machines.
Then gradually abandonment. Scars remain.
There is silence, but if you close your eyes and listen carefully you can almost hear the incessant work of plants, fungi, and bacteria.
Tireless, they perform a gesture that is a gift to us. They purify, regenerate, transform. It’s an incessant rustle that proceeds underground day and night. You can’t see it, but it happens.
The project in the "Piazza del Grande Prato"
Altro livello pays tribute to the extraordinary work that plants and microorganisms do. It tells the story of phytodepuration from an unusual perspective: from contaminated soil toward regeneration through pollutant suspension. A process that starts from the roots and rises to another level.

ANNALISA FERRARIS _ Bachelor’s degree in architecture from the Polytechnic University of Milan. Designer, construction manager, and safety officer for new construction and building renovation work in constrained areas. Specializing in residential construction and interior design. She attended the Monza Park Agricultural School for green design. Collaborates with Lino Zubani on the design and implementation of outdoor environments and participation in landscape competitions.
LINO ZUBANI _ Bachelor’s degree in natural sciences from the University of Pavia. Study period at the Millennium Seed Bank of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, London. Since late 2013, he has headed Flora Conservation. For the past several years, he has been combining his nursery business with the design of public and private spaces with a strong naturalistic value. In 2023 with Annalisa Ferraris he won “La Foglia d’oro del Lago di Como” with the installation entitled Il Battito della vita / The Beat of life .
