A few questions to Fabrizio Musa

Let’s start from the roots, how does your story begin?

My artistic journey began in direct contact with nature, in a very isolated place in the Parma Apennines in the early 1990s. I already enjoyed painting a lot, but during the year I lived there, without a phone or TV, to oversee the renovation of a family farmhouse, I dedicated myself completely to painting. I delved into my not-yet-evident desire and created more than a hundred paintings in a few months. That’s how it all began.

Who are the people who have inspired you the most artistically and professionally?

Professionally, I would say Pablo Picasso above all, for his incredible journey that completely transformed his way of painting over the years. In the purely artistic field, I feel a great affinity —often reflected in my works— with Andy Warhol and Pop Art.

How does nature inspire your projects and lifestyle?

Nature inspires not only my life but also my work. Nature is beauty. Beauty is art. The serenity I experience being in contact with nature is a great inspiration for me, for my work, and for my life. Whenever I have the chance, I escape and return to the Parma Apennines where it all began.

If you could make a tribute to the soil, what would it be?

Planting a tree and having the fortune to see it grow over the years.

What is your definition of art?

Limitless beauty.

Five words for you closely related to the concept of earth (soil).

Roots, planet, climate, nature, beauty
