"SETA. Sustainable Environment and Textile Artwork."

By Jonathan Arnaboldi and Matteo Pellicanò

Winner of the 2024 Foglia d’oro del Lago di Como Award and the Villa Carlotta and Grandi Giardini Italiani Awards

[Concept]

SETA. Sustainable Environment and Textile Artwork combines sustainability, tradition and territory.

On one hand, the construction of an ecosystem capable of providing concrete benefits in the soil improvement field through the use of soil-enhancing species, both indigenous and pioneering, with various botanical essences adapted to the climate of Lake Como. On the other hand, a thin veil of printed silk, a noble fabric and symbol of Como’s history, which becomes art to celebrate the soil and its cyclical nature. Hidden among the shades, the stratification of the soil emerges. Colors and textures that tell its story, its genesis, and its transformation.
