Conference
Fitodepurazione tra realtà urbane e aziende agricole (Phytoremediation in Urban Areas and Agricultural Settings)
with Marco Devecchi and Gianni Forte, University Professors
Saturday, October 5, 11:30
Central Pavilion and in the park
The remarkable ability of plants to purify the environment has been known and studied for a long time. Specifically, phytoremediation, the practice of using vegetation to remove pollutants from soil and water, has garnered increasing interest in recent years. In Piedmont, for example, numerous experiments have explored this practice in both urban contexts, such as former industrial areas where soils are contaminated with heavy metals, and in agricultural settings.
Join Marco Devecchi and Gianni Forte for an in-depth discussion on the world of phytoremediation, a precious gem of modern ecology.
Following the conference, there will be a guided tour of the installation “Altro livello,” a project dedicated to phytoremediating plants designed by Annalisa Ferraris and Lino Zubani.
