Biophilia — literally, the “desire to love what is alive.”
The resulting works are “Humid Landscapes” — damp, imaginary ecologies where body parts and organic elements form passionate relationships. These are Interregnum (liminal) spaces, new paradigms of interspecies connection, compositions in which elements are drawn to one another in an irreparable bond.
The series gives life to the Biophilic Garden, a primordial place of abundance, where kingdoms coexist in a rediscovered sense of wonder.
In this non-hierarchical space, an animal mother might have a plant lover, or a wild edible plant may find its radical nourishment in the human body.
The works appear as untamed visions, where organic elements are allowed to interact freely, and the human figure takes on the marginal role of a quiet observer.
