7 _ Spazio Il Giardino dei Giunchi "Rosa velata" ("Veiled rose")

project by Jesus Sanz-Castro and Daniela Giraudo

[Concept]

An immersive garden that transforms dream into landscape.
Crimson cloths moved by the wind envelop the space like a living, vibrating organism. Veiled Rose is a spiral pathway that leads visitors inside a vast rose, where each petal becomes a sensory dream-room inhabited by a single plant species.
The journey passes through the four stages of sleep: from falling asleep to light sleep, from deep immersion to the visionary realm of dreaming. It ultimately reaches the center of the rose, where space opens into an intimate and contemplative revelation.

The experience is composed like a sensory score made of whispered sounds, soft mists, and diffused light, evoking the deep breath of nature and amplifying its immaterial presence. In this fluid and ever-changing environment, the visitor does not merely observe but participates: becoming an integral part of a dreaming nature.

A few questions to Jesus Sanz-Castro and Daniela Giraudo

How did your story begin?

Jesus / My story began with the study of “space” as a medium through which people experience, live, and dream, whether inside a room or in a garden. In my research thesis, however, I came to realize how design does not clearly distinguish between inside and outside…
