Workshop for the creation of handmade paper with cellulose and edible wild plant seeds

Carta viva

with Caterina Mainardis and Samira Scatton, artists

Saturday, October 4th, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM
Sala Contessa, Villa Antica

Paid event* — reservation required

Through the artisanal processing of cellulose and the inclusion of seeds, a unique sheet is born: a “letter” that holds traces, memories, and, ultimately, potential life. A surface that is both fragile and powerful at the same time.

The workshop thus becomes a poetic and manual act, where each sheet created is an encounter between matter and narration, between gesture and memory. Edible wild plants — once a precious resource for survival — become a symbol of resilience and connection to the earth. To touch them and incorporate them into paper is an act of recognition: a way to rediscover their story and, perhaps, our own.

In a time that often separates art from nature, the workshop reconnects the threads: between gesture and listening, between beauty and biodiversity, between paper and life.

At the end of the workshop, each participant will take home their handmade piece and receive, as a gift, a precious botanical sheet created by the workshop curators using cellulose and dried edible wild plants.
