Foraging is a mindful return to nature, a search for spontaneous nourishment that stands in contrast to modern industrial food systems. From this philosophy comes “Tra bosco e forchetta”: an immersive experience inside and outside the grounds of Villa Erba to identify, harvest, and taste the banquet nature offers, freely and generously.

Mediterranean mythologies are rich with references to sacred gardens tied to female deities—from the goddess Inanna’s garden in the Epic of Gilgamesh, to the Hesperides’ orchard. These sacred spaces, guarded by feminine presences, are closely linked to the healing powers of medicinal and edible wild herbs.
