Dalla terra all’ortica
with Alessandra Lanza, artist
Sunday, October 5, from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM
Spazio workshop, Ala Cernobbio
Paid event* by reservation only
To honor the earth and its gifts.
To savor its scents, rediscover roots, tell who we are, and imagine who we will become.
An experiential workshop where participants shape, with their own hands, a raw-earth bowl enriched with its gifts – nettles and roses: a small artisanal masterpiece, primordial and full of life.
Each participant will create their own personal piece to keep and carry easily thanks to the simple support provided, along with tips, recipes, and curiosities on the use of nettle in cooking.
*This event is among the activities that support the “Amici di Orticolario” Fund.

The Workshop
The artistic project was conceived during a time of personal, emotional, and creative rebirth for Alessandra Lanza, inspired by the arrival of Elisabetta, who gave her the joy of becoming a grandmother.
It took shape in harmony with her inner rhythms, born from listening and from the need for rediscovery she felt during walks with her granddaughter through gardens, meadows, and woods. Walking in the rain, playing in puddles, observing with wonder Elisabetta’s instinctive gestures—collecting, smelling, keeping with determination flowers, leaves, berries, and twigs—a new inspiration blossomed.
The discovery of raw earth as a creative material gave substance to this vision: the gathered gifts merge with the works, transforming into a powerful artistic language.
The sensory responses—tactile, olfactory, visual—are intense and immediate, bringing the artist back to her own childhood: to games among greenery, hay, woods, and the river. A return to origins that becomes a creative act.
